# Practice Speaking

## 1. How to set up micro on Chrome

When using the Speaking feature on [https://exam.flyer.us/](https://exam.flyer.us/exam) for the first time, Google Chrome will ask you for permission to access the microphone on the device.

* Click **Allow** to use the microphone.

In case you do not receive this notification or in case the browser has blocked access to the microphone, you can fix it with the following steps:

* Step 1: Open the browser
* Step 2: Click the **Menu icon** (3 vertical dots, upper right corner)
* Step 3: Click **Setting**

* Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click **Advanced**

* Step 5: Under **Privacy and security**, select **Site settings**

* Step 6: Select **Microphone**, make sure **Ask before accessing** box is ticked, and [https://exam.flyer.us/](https://exam.flyer.us/exam) is not on the blocked list

* Step 7: Go back to [https://exam.flyer.us/](https://exam.flyer.us/exam) and choose to take the Speaking test. When Chrome asks for microphone access, click **Allow**. [https://exam.flyer.us/](https://exam.flyer.us/exam) will now also appear in the list of websites allowed to use microphones

## 2. How to take the Speaking tests

* Step 1: Visit [https://exam.flyer.us/](https://exam.flyer.us/exam)
* Step 2: Select **Speaking** in the upper left corner of the screen -> Choose the level you want to practice

* Step 3: Choose the test you want to take and start taking the test. Please pay attention and read the instructions carefully

* Step 4: Choose a scoring mode

\*Note: Requesting teachers to grade is only for students with classes on FLYER. For students who do not have classes, the screen will only show the AI-scoring option. Each account will be given 5 AI-scoring turns. You can top up diamonds to have more AI-scoring turns.

* Step 5: Start taking the test

When doing the Speaking test, if you haven't listened carefully, press the button as shown:

If you can't see the picture clearly, click twice on the picture to make it larger and clearer.

* Step 6: After completing a question, press the **right arrow button** to move to the next question. After completing the assignment, click **Confirm** to submit the test
* Step 7: The screen will immediately display the results if you choose to score by AI. If you choose **Ask teacher to grade**, your test will not be scored immediately but will be sent to your teacher to grade.

To review your work, click **Review your records.**

\*Note: As for the AI scoring, your speaking results will be graded based on 3 criteria as shown below:
